Gwyneth Paltrow says her marriage with Brad Falchuk is "reminiscent" of the bond she had with her dad.
The Goop founder's father, famed producer Bruce Paltrow, died in 2002 from complications of oral cancer.
Falchuk "has things that were reminiscent of my dad. It’s like blue-eyed, Jewish, TV writer, with a heart of gold and a great sense of humor," the 51-year-old actress told People of her husband in an interview published Wednesday.
Falchuk, 52, and Ryan Murphy are co-creators of successful TV series' including "Glee," "American Horror Story," "Scream Queens" and "Pose."
Of the similarities between her husband and father, Paltrow said, "I finally chose my dad."
The lifestyle CEO and her second husband celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in September.
Falchuck gushed about the "Iron Man" star being "the perfect wife," adding that her care towards others is also something he adores. "If she loves you, she is your champion. You doing well feels as good to her as her doing well. She literally screams when she hears good news from someone."
The Oscar-winning actress and producer also discussed their blended family, which Paltrow called, "one of the things that brings me the most happiness in my life."
Paltrow and her ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin share daughter Apple, 19, and son Moses, 17. Meanwhile, Falchuk co-parents daughter Isabella, 19, and son Brody, 17, with his ex-wife Suzanne Bukinik.
In an episode of Goop's podcast in September 2022, Paltrow and Falchuk further discussed their stepparenting styles and the benefits of a second marriage.
The "Glee" co-founder expressed one of the perks of getting married later in life is general wisdom and "more accountability" for problems in a relationship.
Paltrow added: "You and I are so actively involved in our marriage. … We really look out for each other and take care of one another."
When it comes to co-parenting, the "Avengers: End Game" actress admitted it wasn't a natural success for her in the beginning as she navigated "boundaries."
"You are such a good stepdad. You are exceptional at it," Paltrow gushed, asking Falchuk to share his advice to others in blended families.
The Gwyneth Paltrow ski trialhad our attention. It was strange, juicy and exactly what the internet wanted.
Falchuk responded, "It's just coming in with that confidence, where it's like I'm not trying to replace their dad, but I am a dad to them. … I've been lucky that there wasn't a huge amount of resistance to that."
He added: "Fundamentally, I love them like they're mine and they are."
Falchuk also added that while a family without divorce is the "ideal" situation for children, "Our kids are fortunate they have so many parents who absolutely adore them and they're all really, really different and they can go to each one of them for something different."
