Ava Phillippe takes after her mom in more ways than one.
After all, Reese Witherspoon’s daughter—whom the actress shares along with son Deacon Phillippe, 21, with ex Ryan Phillippe—just shared that she's grown her little family by one more pooch.
“This is Birdie!” Ava, who is already a dog mom to her pup Benji, wrote in a Nov. 13 Instagram post. “She has blue eyes (for now?), a fantastic underbite, and the spunkiest personality. Thanks to @wagsandwalks LA, she has finally made her way home— to Benji & me!”
And the 25-year-old welcomed her followers to share their thoughts on her rescue as she waits for more information.
“We know she's about 3 months old,” Ava continued. “But what breed(s) do you think this gal might be? Feel free to leave your guesses in the comments as we wait on the DNA test.”
The UC Berkeley alum has been a proud mom to her other rescue dog for four years, celebrating his arrival into her little family last month on Instagram, writing, “four years in the books...forever my Benji.”
Of course, Ava has only inherited her love for pups from the Legally Blonde actress. The 48-year-old—who is also mom to son Tennessee, 12, with ex Jim Toth—is vocal about her love for animals on her own social media, parenting several pups over the years.
Earlier this year, however, the entire family mourned the loss of one of their oldest dogs, Hank.
“We will miss your sweet spirit, Hank,” Reese wrote in an Instagram Story in August. “Thank you for being the best family pet and pack leader.”
Ava similarly expressed love for the family pet on her own social media at the time.
“14 ½ years of pure love & constant tail wagging,” she wrote on Instagram. “The job was ‘family pet’ & he excelled at it. Thanks Hanky for reminding us that every day is the best day ever.”
Jim also expressed his grief under Ava’s post, adding along with a red heart emoji, “He took great care of us.”
