Nickelodeon's annual slime-fest, aka the Kids' Choice Awards, are back and this year's show is going to be "the slimiest, SPONGIEST, square-iest, silliest show ever."
The ceremony, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, will be hosted by Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star in honor of the show's 25th anniversary (it premiered on July 17, 1999), and Nickelodeon says this is the first time that animated characters will be hosting a full-length awards show. The stage, meanwhile, has also been designed like Bikini Bottom Bows, Ashley Kaplan, an executive VP at Nickelodeon told The Hollywood Reporter. Additionally, it's SpongeBob’s birthday on July 14 and Nickelodeon has teased big birthday surprises during the show.
This year's edition also features a host of first-time nominees including Halle Bailey, Austin Butler, Sabrina Carpenter, Kai Cenat, Timothée Chalamet, Luke Combs, Ariana DeBose, Ayo Edebiri, Ryan Gosling, Reneé Rapp, Margot Robbie and Paul Rudd. Nominees also include Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Timberlake with Swift the most-nominated individual with six nods.
Here's what to know about the 2024 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards including hosts and how to watch it.
